Illegal Immigrant Arrested

Sturgis Police last week arrested a Howe, Ind., man who was found to be in the country as an illegal immigrant.
Police said a traffic stop was conducted at 3:30 a.m. March 30 after the driver of a car disregarded a red light at Centerville and Chicago roads. The driver gave police a false name, but during the booking process, his fingerprints matched his prints already in an FBI database. It was revealed that the man, 22-year-old Gerado Santana, was previously deported from the country.
He is being held at the St. Joseph County Jail for immigration officials. Santana was charged with no license and providing false information to police.
