Federal grand jury issues indictments

PLANO, Texas A federal grand jury has returned multiple indictments charging individuals with separate federal crimes in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales said Friday.

Fernando Francisco-Hernandez, 30, of Mexico, has been indicted for illegal reentry of a deported alien. If convicted, he faces up to 2 years in federal prison and deportation. This case is being investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Silvestre Reynosa-Lismo, 28, of Mexico, has been indicted for illegal reentry of a deported alien. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in federal prison and deportation. This case is being investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Julio David Asencio-Portillo, 36, of Guatemala, has been indicted for illegal reentry of a deported alien. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and deportation. This case is being investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Evodio Rubio Mendoza, 41, of Mexico, has been indicted for illegal reentry of a deported alien. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and deportation. This case is being investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney M. Andrew Stover.

Saul Mancia Garcia, 49, of El Salvador, has been indicted for illegal reentry of a deported alien. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and deportation. This case is being investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney M. Andrew Stover.

A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
