Man arrested on deportation warrant
MONTICELLO – A South Fallsburg man who was stopped for failing to signal a turn, has been arrested and charged on a warrant from Immigration and Customs Enforcement for his deportation from the United States, Monticello Village Police said.
Orlando Gomez, 28, was charged with felonies for criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree and forgery in the second degree. Police said he had a forged Social Security card that he had signed in his name.
He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending further court action. He was to be turned over to federal authorities.
Gomez was stopped while driving last Friday night on Pleasant Street in Monticello.
