Pomfret resident arrested in immigration sting

One person from Pomfret was among 22 people across Connecticut arrested by immigration officials as part of Operation Cross Check.
The nationwide sweep, conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, led to the arrest of more than 2,400 convicted criminal aliens and immigration fugitives last month, customs agents said in a press release.
Approximately 175 federal, state and local officers participated in the arrests throughout New England.
