Joaquin Garcia-Brionies, 24, of Irving Avenue, was arrested Saturday and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Officers responded to the 500 block of North Pearl Street for a report of a fight and found 20 to 30 people gathered in the rear of a property.
While investigating, the officers learned that Garcia-Brionies had been holding a machete and he also allegedly threw a bottle at somebody’s head.
He was also in the country illegally.
He was committed to the Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail and on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
