Newport Man Wanted by ICE Allegedly Throws Bottle At Moving Car

Marcos Durval-Vinicius, 22, of 44 East Bowery Street, Newport, was arrested around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday for an Immigration & Customs Enforcement warrant and vandalism.

According to reports, Durval-Vinicius came to the station and appeared intoxicated. He allegedly told police he was wanted for the ICE warrant and said his father was dying back in Brazil. The officer left to confirm the warrant and when he returned, Durval-Vinicius was gone, but had left his passport and paperwork. A witness said Durval-Vinicius had thrown a bottle at a passing vehicle on Broadway and caused damage to the car. He was arrested for vandalism.

Police said that Durval-Vinicius reportedly told them, “I got mad you took so long to arrest me, so I threw the bottle at the car.” He was booked and processed.
