Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Abuse, Rape

CARMEL VALLEY, Calif. -- A waiter who deputies said kept a woman captive for two years has been arrested on sex charges.
Jhoni Abraham Funes, 31, of Carmel Valley is accused of rape, sodomy and abuse against a woman who he allegedly held captive since the fall of 2008, deputies said.
Sheriff's officials said Funes used the woman's illegal immigrant status to intimidate her not to report the abuse.
The woman told a mandatory reporter what Funes did only after the pair's relationship ended.
