FLORESVILLE -- Five suspected illegal aliens are being held in the Wilson County Jail following an Oct. 12 manhunt that enlisted the assistance of four area law-enforcement agencies.

At approximately 9 a.m., K-9 Officer Devin Keen of the Floresville Police Department said he spotted a speeding maroon Chevrolet pickup truck being driven northbound on U.S. 181 near the Highland Oaks Apartments. Keen pursued the truck onto Railroad Street near the Floresville High School parking lot. The driver and his passengers then fled across the parking lot, with Keen in pursuit.

A total of five suspects, all believed to be from Mexico, were apprehended as of 12:30 p.m., Keen said. Officials from the Floresville Police Department, Floresville Independent School District Police Department, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol continue to comb the area near the Floresville Middle School on B Street for remaining fugitives.
