DANBURY -- A Danbury man was held for immigration authorities Tuesday evening after a traffic stop on Osborne Street.
Tiago Campos, 23, of Padanaram Road, was taken into custody just after 9 p.m., after failing to move when the light changed, police said.
A check of the vehicle resulted in Campos being cited for misuse of plates, operating an unregistered vehicle, driving without a license, and failure to carry proof of insurance, police said. A search of the car yielded three small bags of marijuana, and he was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession within 1,500 feet of a school, according to police.
After officers ran his name through an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement database, they also found an outstanding warrant charging him with entering the country illegally.
