LODI - Authorities arrested 19 people and searched 90 homes in a multiagency sweep of northern San Joaquin County on Friday.
The operation targeted repeat offenders and wanted suspects and conducted compliance checks for people on probation or parole.
"And, of course, it puts a big dent in criminal activity," said Cpl. Dale Eubanks of the Lodi Police Department.
The sweeps turned up stolen property and drug and gang paraphernalia in the possession of people on probation or parole. In one search, authorities found stolen property from multiple burglaries in the neighborhood, Eubanks said.
The joint operation took months to plan, but it is an efficient way to bring together a host of agencies to efficiently handle a wide array of situations and cases at the same time, he said.
Besides Lodi police, the operation included the Galt Police Department, San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office, San Joaquin County Probation, California State Parole, United States Marshal's Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
