Fake documents lead to arrest

HOUMA — A 30-year-old is accused of trying to get a state ID with fraudulent documents he purchased.

Alfonso Eugenio, 111 Nancy St., was arrested Wednesday after going to the Office of Motor Vehicles, 108 Capital Blvd., and trying to obtain an identification card using the name Ricardo Arenas, State Police said.

Eugenio is charged with unlawful production of identification documents and filing false public records. He is being held at the Terrebonne Parish jail in lieu of a $3,000 bond and is also being held for immigration-related issues.
