An early morning traffic stop on Main Street in Willits led to the arrest of four men, including three Mexican nationals, on weapons and drug offenses.
A GMC Jimmy was pulled over by Willits police northbound on the 300 block of North Main Street at 12:45 a.m. Monday for speeding and swerving, according to police. During a consensual search of the vehicle, officers found two semiautomatic 9mm pistols. Officers also discovered a cache of marijuana seeds, gardening supplies and equipment consistent with setting up a long-term camp.
Mario Contreras, 53, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of having a concealed weapon in a vehicle, conspiracy to commit a crime and cultivation of marijuana for sales. He was released after posting $15,000 bond.
Antioco Linares-Cabrera, 18, Misael Linares-Cabrera, 20; both Mexican nationals with a Temecula address, and David Valencia-Garcia, 45, a Mexican national with a Santa Rosa address; were arrested on suspicion of having a concealed weapon in a vehicle, conspiracy to commit a crime and cultivation of marijuana for sales.
