PHOENIX-- Maricopa Country Sheriff’s deputies are credited with busting an identity forgery ring and arresting five undocumented immigrants in connection with the bust.

Two of the men arrested, Eduardo Chavez-Elizalde and Federico Velasco-Lopez, are suspected of running a forgery operation and providing undocumented immigrants with fake identifications.

The deputies reportedly seized computer equipment, weapons, and hundreds of forged documents such as social security cards, driver’s licenses, and permanent residency cards during the raid.

The arrests are the result of a six-month surveillance operation that began after a tip was recieved through the sheriff’s office illegal immigration hotline.
