After a traffic stop for a license plate violation on a mini van driving on Highway 89 in Chino Valley on Aug. 28 at about 1 a.m., a Chino Valley Police Department officer found 15 illegal immigrants inside.

Officers found that people were from Mexico and four were juveniles.

The van, which officers stopped in the 2500 block of north Highway 89, was en route to Kingman.

Chino police contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers who asked that the people be taken and jailed in the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Jail and Juvenile Detention Center in Prescott.
