Man sentenced for lying about identity after boy's death The Associated Press

REDDING, Calif.—A man who accidentally ran over and killed a 3-year-old boy has been sentenced to 16 months in prison.
Authorities say Jose Salvador Alcantar-Ruiz was backing up a pickup truck along a private driveway when 3-year-old Christian Luna ran behind the vehicle.
Prosecutors determined that the boy's March 6 death in Anderson, near Redding, was accidental.
But they charged Alcantar-Ruiz with impersonating another person. They say the 39-year-old man gave police a driver's license belonging to someone else in an attempt to avoid prosecution.
He was later identified through his fingerprints.
Prosecutors say Alcantar-Ruiz is an illegal immigrant and faces deportation after he serves his sentence.
